How to Deal with a CFP
Thursday, May 22nd, 2008Your Contra Costa CFP should be benefitting you and your money, but there are also ways in which you can make his or her job easier – or even help them make better decisions regarding your money. Here are a few ways to do so.
For starters, be honest. Tell your Contra Costa CFP everything regarding your money habits. You may have a problem somewhere, but if your CFP does not know about it, he or she can’t fix it. So keep tabs on what you are doing with your money and make sure your CFP knows about it.
Also, ask questions. A good Contra Costa CFP wants you to be informed. If everyone involved has all the information, then together better decisions can be made. So, don’t be shy about asking a question. It’s been said many times that “there are no stupid questions,” so keep that in mind when meeting with your CFP.
And lastly, be friendly with your CFP. Many times, a Contra Costa CFP will have clients that talk down to them, complain to them, and simply do not treat them as a decent human being should. A friendly client is a client that a CFP will want to go out of his or her way to help. Be that client for them!
